The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, presided this morning the meeting of the Board of Directors of Mercamurcia, the center of logistics distribution agroalimentaria of southeast Spain, which reported on the increase in the marketing of fruit and vegetables, especially , in the sale of potatoes, which has registered a significant increase of 7.5% compared to the third quarter of last year.
In addition, the Council has been informed of the implementation of a Vocational Training Classroom.
This initiative is related to the future Strategic Plan of Mercamurcia, where one of the lines of work will be to turn the Food Unit into a Training and Knowledge Center in an active way among the interest groups of the food sector.
On the other hand, as the first relevant action of Mercamurcia's Energy Efficiency Plan, the Council approved the awarding of contracting for the supply and installation of low-consumption LED luminaires for street lighting in the urbanization, improving the impact environmental impact of the facilities.
In the chapter on investments, it is important to highlight those carried out with the aim of expanding and adapting the spaces of both the Cárnico Complex and the Fish Market Pavilion in its logistics facilities.
