The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the go-ahead to hold talks of the Reading Club in the Circo and Romea theaters of the municipality.
A step that reinforces the parallel activities and related to the theatrical shows scheduled in both centers at the proposal of the Department of Tourism, Employment and Culture.
These are five days for which have been selected five books that can be withdrawn in theaters before the celebration of each of the talks.
The teaching and coordination of the readings will be carried out by Ángel Salcedo Santa, who will be in charge of guiding the assistants in reading the chosen works and of moderating the subsequent debates.
The programmed shows and the dates of each of them are the following:
- 'The singer Calva', reading to perform at the Teatro Romea on October 4 at 18:00 and 20:00 hours.
- 'The author of the Girls', at the Circus Theater on October 23 at 18:00 and 20:00 hours.
- 'The caciques', at the Teatro Romea on November 22 at 18:00 and 20:00 hours.
- 'Historias de Usera', at the Teatro Circo on December 4 at 18:00 and 20:00 hours.
- 'La Gitanilla', at the Teatro Romea on January 17th at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Any interested person can request previous registration in the Reading Club, with the only requirement to be of legal age.
Applications can be submitted between 5 and 20 September from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Teatro Circo.
The final list of attendees will be published on the web pages of both theaters and Murcia City Council on 21 September.
The quota for each of the talks is 20 people, a lottery is made in case there is more demand and announced the chosen on Monday 25 September.
From that same moment the admitted ones will be able to pick up the text corresponding to the first one of the readings in the Circus Theater.
