The Town Council and Terra Natura Murcia launch the second edition of the Adapted Summer School with scholarships for children and young people with few resources (26/06/2017)

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization of Urban Quality and Participation and the Department of Social Rights, Terra Natura Murcia and Centauro Quiron launch the second edition of the Adapted Summer School that takes place in the animal park And nature.

During the months of July and August, Terra Natura offers an initiative that aims to improve the quality of life of the participants in a natural environment and from a playful-educational approach through activities with dogs, lemurs, giraffes, raptors and Gamos.

This year, in addition, scholarships are offered that will allow disabled people from families with few resources to have the opportunity to participate in school activities.

The adapted Summer School project is aimed at all those people who, with some physical, psychic, sensory, language disorders, developmental disorders, mental illness or social integration problems, require a comprehensive treatment that facilitates their Personal, physical, cognitive, relational and / or social development.

The age of participants will be between 5 and 20 years of age.

Among the objectives sought with the proposed actions is to promote verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as contact with other people and animals, promote psychomotor skills, foster a healthy use of free time during the vacation period, promote respect and Environmental conservation and reinforce individual and group values ​​such as social skills, assertiveness, confidence, security, autonomy or self-confidence.

The students will be accompanied, at all times, by specialized therapists, in a ratio of two users per therapist.

The school schedule will be from Monday to Friday from 9 to 18 hours.
