The PSOE regrets that the PP misses the opportunity to participate in the Hernandiano Year despite being part of the Organizing Committee (25/06/2017)

The Municipal Socialist Group regrets that the Government team, PP, miss the opportunity to participate in the Hernando Year, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the death of the poet Oriolano Miguel Hernandez, despite the fact that the City of Murcia is part of the Committee Organizer, which also includes the Diputación de Jaén, the Delegation of Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Jaén, the Government Delegation of the Valencian Government in Alicante, the municipalities of Elche, Orihuela, Quesada, Torrevieja and Sant Vicent del Raspeig , University of Jaén and the Andalusian Center of Letters, as well as experts in the figure and legacy of the poet, Instituto de Estudios Giennenses.

Councilor Begoña García Retegui, who was appointed along with Councilor for Culture, Jesús Pacheco, as representatives of the City Council in the aforementioned Committee, warns that, despite the commitment made, it is not aware of any meeting or meeting, much less programming, Which took place on the occasion of this anniversary, only cultural activities set in motion by some cultural centers and municipal councils of districts.

Meanwhile, other municipalities involved have developed more than one hundred activities, such as Orihuela, which has made the Hernandiano Year its tourist and cultural proposal.

He also recalls that all kinds of activities such as reading, book publishing, concerts and exhibitions, a film documentary, concerts and several plays are being held, as well as a compilation undiscovered with the poems of Miguel Hernández.

Also, a commemorative stamp will be presented, mosaics will be installed in different locations in Jaén on the poet, in addition to the development of lectures on his life and work and visits of educational centers to the Museum that has in Quesada, the town of his wife, Josefina Manresa .

Therefore, García Retegui criticizes "the little interest shown, as well as the patent irresponsibility to commit to an event as the anniversary of a magnificent and universal poet who, at the proposal of the Socialist Municipal Group, is Adoptive Son of Murcia since 2011."

Therefore, the councilor claims in a motion that will defend in the next plenary session that government team promote, disseminate and support events that record the commitment of our municipality with Miguel Hernandez and actively participate in all acts of the Organizing Committee of "75 Anniversary of the death of the poet ".
