The Feast of Sport will gather next weekend to thousands of people in the environment of Santa Maria de Gracia (29/03/2017)

During Saturday and Sunday, over 16 hours, the event will allow to practice more than 60 sports in 110,000 m2, in sports pavilions and swimming pools, as well as gardens and outdoor facilities.

Organized by the City Council and the Union of Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia, it includes activities for all ages, exhibitions and open competitions, workshops, dive baptisms, simulators and activities for people with disabilities.

The next weekend will be held in the surroundings of the Jose Mares Sports Center, Mar Menor Pool, Auditorium and Park of Fofó, IES Infante, Cagigal Pavilion, and Prince of Asturias and sports courts of La Vega, II Sports Festival, an initiative Promoted by the City of Murcia and the Union of Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia that plans to gather thousands of people to participate in various exhibitions, workshops and activities for all audiences.

During Saturday from 9am to 8pm and Sunday from 9am to 2pm, over 16 hours, the event will allow to practice more than 60 sports in 110,000 m2, in sports pavilions and swimming pools, as well as gardens and facilities In the surroundings of the neighborhood of Santa María de Gracia.

The first edition of this event, which took place last year, took place on Sunday morning and reached a participation of 15,000 people.

On this occasion, the proposal increases by 12 hours, and forecasts indicate that approximately 30,000 people could be reached.

During the two days there will be exhibitions, educational workshops for all ages, dive baptisms, simulators and activities for people with disabilities and will develop competitions of different sports.

Participants will also receive theoretical and practical insights on regulation and technical skills.

For all ages

It will be a sporting, recreational and popular event that will be open to the participation of the whole family, with activities adapted to the level of all participants, regardless of age and sex.

"We want to enjoy a day of leisure and sports where all members of the family can participate in the different activities we propose," said Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, who encourages attendance at an event "in which Children, adults and older can find a sport to their measure ".

Most of the activities are free participation that do not require previous registration.

This is not the case, for example, in the III Solidarity Race CEPAIM Foundation, which will take place on Sunday, at 10 o'clock, with departure next to the pavilion Cagigal and a 5-kilometer journey.
