Social Rights serves more than 115,000 calls during 2016 from the Teleassistance service (21/02/2017)

The elderly receive care and attention, 24 hours a day and all year, thanks to this social benefit of the City of Murcia.

The council has participated in the meeting 'Snack with us', where neighbors Torreagüera, Los Dolores and Beniaján have shared their experiences

More than 115,000 calls have been managed during 2016 from the Department of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz, through the Teleassistance service of the City of Murcia.

The holder of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, participated in the meeting 'Snack with us', in which residents of the villages of Torreagüera, Los Dolores and Beniaján shared their experiences and suggestions with the service professionals with whom they communicate daily By telephone and, occasionally, in person.

The City Council organizes these meetings on a regular basis with the different users of the Tele-assistance service in the different areas of the city.

In this way, users have the opportunity to meet the service staff to expose their doubts, suggestions and meet other people in the same situation and in the same area, allowing to strengthen community ties.

At present, 2,395 people have access to the Tele-assistance service in the City of Murcia and 1473 security devices: 874 smoke detectors;

269 ​​mobility sensors;

246 gas detectors;

16 carbon monoxide detectors;

3 adapters Remote Control Unit;

And 30 mobile terminals.

Ruiz took the opportunity to congratulate the professionals for the work they do, while encouraging our elders to continue "trusting in this service that provides security and company."

Teleassistance is one of the benefits provided by the City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights, for situations of lack of personal autonomy and loneliness.

More than 2,400 users are currently receiving the care and care of the professionals provided by Tunstall-Televida.

The service "allows people living alone to be assured that in situations of crisis, they can contact the telephone with a center where they attend specialized people," explained the head of Social Rights.

In addition, this device, said Ruiz Caballero, "improving the quality of life of those over 65 and disabled people living alone or coexist with other people in a similar situation."

The City of Murcia has been providing this benefit since 1999 with the aim of "promoting, guaranteeing and favoring the quality of life of our elderly people in their habitual environment of life", finished Ruiz Caballero.

Good attention to the episode of heavy rains

The Teleassistance service of the City of Murcia managed 692 calls on the occasion of the heavy rains that happened in the municipality last December.
