Christmas Tree Solidarity Day brings together thirty social entities with workshops for the whole family (14/12/2019)

José Ballesta: "The objective of this day is to spread the values ​​of solidarity that support the daily work of each of the participating entities, which are the best exponent of the generosity of the Murcian people."

The Christmas of Murcia, will be celebrated on December 20 in the Belluga square.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, the Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, and the Councilor for Development, Mario Gómez, attended the Solidarity Day this morning of the Christmas Tree, which brings together thirty social entities in the Circular Plaza, where participating associations and NGOs are spreading their daily work and the values ​​of their work through workshops and activities for the whole family.

"The objective of this day is to spread the values ​​of solidarity that support the daily work of each of the participating entities, which represent the best of ourselves and are the best exponent of the generosity of the people of Murcia," said José Ballesta.

The Christmas Tree Solidarity Day, celebrated for the second consecutive year, will take place this morning, until 2 pm, and in the afternoon, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Associations and participating NGOs

The entities that participate in the Christmas Tree Solidarity Day are Covide-Amve, Fade Foundation, Aid to Children Association of Bolivia, Abandoned Jesus, Manos Unidas, Makua NGO, Murcia Acoge Association, Sed (Solidarity, Education and Development), Smile Saharaui Region of Murcia, Red Cross, Blue in Action, Association of Solidarity Responses, Federation of African Associations of Murcia, Fepamur, Dacemur, Fundawn, Fadis-Asparros, Astrapace, Ceom, Aspanpal, Mental Health Federation, Afes, Afacmur, Lupus, Amupheb, Ainara Soldiers, Armai-TLP Foundation, Astrade and Adaner.

IX Christmas Rock Solidario

Another of the most outstanding activities of the Christmas program is the IX Christmas Rock Solidario, which will be held on December 20 at Belluga Square, at 7:30 p.m., fulfilling its ninth edition.

At the rhythm of pop, rock and soul, six voices will star in a Christmas repertoire, together with the veteran band Christmas Rock, formed by musicians of recognized trajectory, such as José Antonio Herrera on guitar, Marcos Justo Romero on bass, Miguel Ángel Gómez on the Drums and Joaquín Lucas García on the keyboard.

Under the baton of José Antonio Herrera, the following voices will meet on the stage of Cardinal Belluga Square:

-Carmen Alarcón, from the AA Mama band.

Currently, he is presenting 'Llama when you arrive'.

She was the winner, along with Pablo García, of CreaMurcia 2015, in the category of singer-songwriter.

-Fernando Rubio.

Founder of Ferroblues and Malaventura, one of the great names of 'rhythm and blues' and 'soul' in Spain.

He currently presents his second solo album, 'Cheap Chinese Guitar'.

-Jesus Cobarro.

Composer, singer and producer.

It's premiere with 'Here, s That Bliss You Left Behind', an album that came out last week.

-José Luis Manzareno.

He led the group Eighth Passenger.

He will present a new album in solidarity in 2020, under the title 'La vida Iluminada'.

At the Christmas Rock festival it will show a preview of his new work, 'Hay Luz', a song linked to Christmas traditions.

-Laura Uve, artistic name of Laura Vidal, who after years collecting her own songs, has decided to undertake a project on the occasion of the CreaMurcia 2018 contest, where she was winner in the singer-songwriter mode.

-Mary of Juan.

Singer of Cartagena descent who will present in February his first work, '24 / 7 ', produced by Manuel Cabezalí, in which the singer and keyboardist Víctor Cabezuelo, leader of the band Rufus T. Firefly has participated.

The solidarity point of the Paje Real

In parallel, the Christmas Tree will have a Paje Real Solidarity Point over the next few weeks, where children who wish may donate their toys for other children in the municipality to enjoy.

In return, they will receive chocolate doubloons (more than 50,000).

A Royal Mailbox has also been enabled, in which they can deliver their letters.
