The Azarbe Shore medical office will remain open during Christmas.

The City Council, through the Department of Health and Sports, has achieved that the Murcia Health Service maintains this service during this period in this center that serves more than 1,500 citizens.

This measure was agreed during the meeting held last Thursday, December 5, between the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the Councilor for Health, Felipe Coello, the Councilor for Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, and the Minister for Health, Manuel Villegas, among other technicians, to deal with the problems of medical offices in the municipality of Murcia, first of all dealing with the most difficult problems, such as the Azarbe Bank, at the request of the neighbors.

“This is a special action because it is a clinic that offers Primary Care and Nursing to different locations.

In this way, given its geographical location and demographic characteristics, the City Council has managed to continue providing this service during the Christmas season to the residents of the area, �said the Councilor for Health and Sports, Felipe Coello.

The medical office of the Shore of the Azarbe gives health coverage to the residents of El Esparragal, Cobatillas, El Raal, Santa Cruz and Llano de Brujas, in addition to the patients of the nursing home of Montepinar and those of the juvenile center of Santo Ángel of the cave.

“The situation of this office is a major concern, since its users are the majority of the elderly and without the availability of private transport.

Hence, we have reconsidered their service and transferred to the counseling our request to keep the center open, as well as to extend staff shifts by the Murcia Health Service, �explains the mayor.

Likewise, the councilor informs that in the coming days a meeting will be called to the residents and users of the medical office to transfer the new measure adopted that will continue with health coverage during these dates.
