The PSOE accuses Ballesta of despotism for interfering in hiring management and devoting himself to pompous whims (12/12/2019)

The spokesman affirms that “in the Municipal Group we agree that an external and objective audit of the minor contracts be carried out, we already demanded the investigation of the large contracts, but we must look with a small magnifying glass because after the year represents millions of euros â€

The Socialist Municipal Group considers that all the uncertainty surrounding the hiring of the City Council of Murcia already requires categorical decisions that do not increase suspicions and that a climate of distrust over municipal management is not transferred to the neighbors.

"We must eliminate any doubt to stop, and even make disappear, misgivings about malicious acts of the rulers," explains the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano.

“We cannot continue to allow Mayor Ballesta to intervene in the decisions of the Councilor responsible for Contracting, giving the image that he does not want transparency about the management of this service, as if he had something to hide,†explains Serrano in relation to the disagreements between the mayor and the councilman Mario Gómez, and adds that "it seems that it bothers him that a mayor wants the procedures to conform to the Law, when this is clear that it must be the norm."

For the spokesman, "the despotism of Crossbow to silence any discrepancy is the same size as his eagerness for those councilors who provide lights, photos and pots."

"The management of this municipality should not respond to the whims of the mayor, and the latter has meant an additional expense in Christmas lights in Apostles, Santo Domingo, Plaza de las Flores ... to add 47,000 euros more than originally planned, something which contrasts with the stinginess that is invested in districts for the same concept, â€he adds.

Serrano affirms that “in the Municipal Group we agree that an external and objective audit of the minor contracts be carried out, we already demand the investigation of the large contracts, but we must look with a small magnifying glass because at the end of the year They represent millions of euros. â€

In addition, the spokesman points out that “of course, for us during this mandate the total and absolute transparency in municipal contracting must remain unimpaired and we will use all the resources at our disposal to counteract any obstacles that may put us.

This will be one of our main challenges, we owe it to Murcia. â€

In summary, the socialist spokesman declares that “every day that passes we are more convinced that municipal contracting needs light and stenographers, and Mayor Ballesta must be the driving force behind this investigation, he must stop opposing and he must also stop spending money public in pompous whims â€.
