La Glorieta hosts the Christmas Story this Saturday, (11/12/2019)

Murcia neighborhoods and districts celebrate Christmas with 500 activities and light, opera, circus and art shows, which will run from tomorrow until January 6.

The big kick-off will be this Saturday, with an air theater show 40 meters high in Belluga, at 6 pm, and the subsequent inauguration of the La Glorieta Christmas Market, with brands of young creators and foodtrucks.

The nativity scene, symbol of Murcian Christmas, stars in a program of own events in Puente Tocinos, Monteagudo, El Raal, Alquerías, Puente Bacon, Casillas, Rincon de Seca, La Alberca, Llano de Brujas, El Puntal, Santa Cruz and Santiago and Zaraiche

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, and the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning at La Glorieta de España the program of 'Sueña.

The shows on Saturday afternoon will start with the air theater company 'Puja!', Which will perform an acrobatic dance at 40 meters high in Belluga Square, at 6 pm.

The artists will represent 'Asteroid B-612', a bet inspired by the classic 'The Little Prince', by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Subsequently, the opening of the Christmas Market will take place at 7:15 p.m.

The Christmas Story will be screened on the facade of the Murcia Town Hall, with live music, starring the Murcian artist Crimson, winner of the latest edition of CreaMurcia in the form of author song, in collaboration with the choir of the Villa Pilar educational center .

In addition, a company of recognized prestige, which fuses the musical theater format with the traditional concert, will perform a surprise show, inviting all attendees to dance.

Christmas story: the history of the Town Hall clock

The Christmas Story will be screened every day, at 7 pm and 10 pm, on the facade of the Town Hall.

His story takes place in the Murcian Consistory, and has a watchmaker as the protagonist, who after almost 800 years taking care of the Town Hall clock, wastes time just before Christmas begins.

The full plot of this story, which combines fantasy and Christmas themes, will be unveiled on the day of the inauguration.

The Market, consisting of 20 wooden booths, will remain open until January 3, from 11 am to 11 pm.

Creativity, music and activities will be the protagonists of this Christmas enclave, through which more than 40 brands of young creators will pass to showcase their products.

More than 40 decorative elements make up the Market, among lights, Christmas figures, firs, etc.

The Christmas Market has the collaboration of Transportes de Murcia, Tram of Murcia, Ferrovial Services and Estrella de Levante.

A ferris wheel for the little ones

On this occasion the Market will have a new attraction for children, in the children's area, a ferris wheel that reaches 4 meters high.

This space will also house Santa's sleigh and Lili's workshops, the EcoElfa of Christmas, who will raise awareness and teach children the importance of the three 'erres': reduce, recycle and reuse.

The workshops will be held from December 13 to January 3.
