The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Citizen Security and Economic Management, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, and the Councilor for Culture and Recovery of Heritage, Jesús Pacheco, has received Cirilo Durán, who has recently ceased as Senior Chief of National Police of the Region and will move to Madrid to take charge of the Training and Improvement Division of the National Police, after almost a decade as the maximum president of this elite Corps in the Region, since he took office in 2012
"Not only is he a great professional, he is also a close, kind, willing, hardworking, sensible and coherent person, always at the service of the security of Murcia and our municipality," said José Ballesta.
Against organized crime
With a degree in Political Science, Cirilo Durán has carried out major operations against drug trafficking and organized crime, leading actions such as 'Operation Python', which dismantled the allegedly led network 'El Karateka'.
This professional, in addition, previously served as the head of the Moncloa-Aravaca District Police Station in the Superior Headquarters of Madrid and as Brigade Chief in the General Information Commission.
Soon he will assume the direction of the Training and Improvement Division of the National Police, in Madrid.
Immigration, borders, citizen security and terrorism are some of the topics in which he has been trained and specialized during his professional career.
