An amusement fair for everyone (09/08/2019)

The FICA will host a ferris wheel that can be accessed by people in wheelchairs and will dedicate a day to children with ASD when the music of the attractions is silenced.

Murcia thus becomes one of the first cities in all of Spain to have an inclusive fair

FICA will host this year the most accessible fair of attractions in the history of the municipality and one of the first in Spain with these characteristics.

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, has presented the details of this edition together with the president of the Murcia fairkeepers, Francisco Javier Fernández 'Chico', the president of the Association of People with Autism Spectrum Disorder of the Region from Murcia (Asteamur), Nani Martínez, and the president of the State Representative Platform for People with Physical Disabilities in the Region of Murcia, Lola Valverde.

Thus, for the first time, an accessible wheel will be installed for people in wheelchairs and there will be a day for children with autism spectrum disorder and people who have hearing hypersensitivity.

Councilor Jesús Pacheco has explained that "we appreciate the efforts made by the traders to innovate and maintain the tradition and their maximum predisposition to improve every year. This year we have created a fair of attractions for all, more inclusive and we will continue working to make our parties are increasingly accessible. "

People in wheelchairs can access a ferris wheel, over 30 meters, perfectly adapted for them.

In its closed and glazed cabins, which also have air conditioning, piped music and panic button, there is room for a wheelchair and a 360 degree view is offered.

This attraction offers a total of 30 cabins with a clear central space and on both sides seats run for people without disabilities.

In addition, people who access with wheelchairs can enjoy the attraction for free, any day of the fair

On the other hand, on Monday, September 9 and until 8 pm, the attractions of FICA will be silenced in order to facilitate assistance to children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and people hypersensitive to noise.

In addition, all lighting will be fixed, without flashing lights, and attractions will be slowed down.

"In this way we comply with the motion passed in the municipal plenary last January and we offer these children a space with conditions that do not alter the sensory impact of minors," said Jesus Pacheco

This edition of the fair of attractions will be inaugurated on Thursday, September 5, day in which all the attractions will have an offer of two tickets at the price of one.

Another novelty will be the return of 'The Mouse', the familiar roller coaster with greater acceptance.

Children's Day will be Tuesday, September 10, from 6 pm to 10 pm, establishing a price of 50% of the normal price of each attraction.

In total, 160 attractions will be installed on the premises of the FICA, among those intended for children, adults and other facilities of other activities such as shows, ramps, booths ...

The prices of the attractions will vary from 2.50 euros the cheapest to 4 euros the most expensive.
