Murcia will have a network of eight ecominiparques in districts (09/08/2019)

The Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, directed by Rebeca Pérez continues to work on the expansion of selective collection services.

Before the end of the year, the creation of the ecominiparques network in the municipality will begin in order to provide Murcia with a space to deposit waste that cannot be taken to mobile ecopoints.

In this way it will not be necessary to travel to the ecopark of the Polígono Oeste Polígono Industrial.

These ecominiparques will be located in a total of 8 zones: La Albatalía / La Arboleja, Guadalupe, Churra / Cabezo de Torres, El Esparragal, Puente Tocinos, Torreagüera / Beniaján, Santiago El Mayor / Barrio del Progreso and Los Martínez del Puerto.

In these new spaces you can deposit furniture, pruning, debris and other bulky, such as doors, mattresses, toilets ... The maximum quantities that can be carried will be 30 kilograms of rubble, 4 units of furniture and bulky and 30 kilograms of domestic pruning

To put into operation this new service, it is planned to prepare areas that will be paved and will have enclosure and surveillance through a TV circuit.

Users who request it will have a code that will be sent to them by message to the mobile and that will serve as an access key.

Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez has indicated that "from the City Council we put all the necessary means for Murcia to collaborate in the recycling and deposit of the different waste they generate in their home since these ecominipars join the ecopark and the existing ecopoints, in addition of the collection of goods and bulky items ".

Thus, the City of Murcia, together with Ferrovial Services, already has facilities available to the residents of the municipality for the correct deposit of special household waste throughout the year through the Ecopark and Mobile Ecopoints, a service that is also maintained Operational during the summer.

In the first half of this year, more than 297,000 kilos of special waste have been collected at these facilities.

During 2015, 264,411 kilos were collected, in 2016 they were 334,593, in 2017 they were 453,000 and in 2018, 585,793 kilograms.

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, explained that "the trend is a greater awareness by the citizens that treats this waste correctly. This increase facilitates its subsequent recovery, as well as the undue dumping of it with the environmental problems associated with this growing malpractice in the Murcian population ".

The Ecopoint that receives the greatest amount of waste is the one located on Thursdays in the Fame Market.

It is closely followed by the mobile point located in Santa María de Gracia, the mobile points of residential areas such as Belén and the Fleet and the one installed in the San Agustín Square.

Examples of this special waste are household oils, batteries, paint cans, clothing and footwear, toys, x-rays, old appliances, light bulbs or other lighting devices, mobiles, tablets, CPUs, air conditioners, game consoles and video games or old electric trains or electric track cars ...

Due to its contaminating or toxic characteristics, special waste requires special care, not only in its correct deposit, but also in its treatment, recycling or final disposal, adding to this the rest of the collection, storage and transport processes.

"At present, there is no excuse for not responsible management of special waste because there are many open channels of communication to obtain the correct deposit information. Both on the telephone number 900 511 133, the Ecopark 968 telephone itself 82 65 33 as in the murciaciudadsostenible web we have at our disposal the opportune information ", pointed out Rebeca Pérez.

The councilor explained that "the visit to the Ecopark or mobile Ecopoints must be part of our habits when we dispose of special household waste as part of our daily actions and learn to dispose of our waste in an orderly, respectful manner with the environment and in accordance with the regulations ".

The Ecopark is a selective waste collection facility, where citizens of the municipality can deposit this special waste free of charge.

This place is an integral waste facility where, once stored and classified, they are transferred to their corresponding authorized management companies, respecting all current legal and environmental regulations where they will be decontaminated, reused or recycled, in a correct way, according to their nature and composition.

The Ecopark of the municipality of Murcia is located in Polígono Industrial Oeste de San Ginés, in the sculptor street Roque López and its schedule is from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

and on Saturdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In August it opens from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In addition, the ecopark of the municipality of Murcia has 6 mobile ecopoints, large vehicles with different compartments for each type of waste, to serve and facilitate citizens who need to dispose of special waste of lower volume without the need to travel to the ecopark , thus having a nearby and accessible installation.

These ecopoints travel through the neighborhoods of Murcia and its districts from Monday to Saturday during the morning and afternoon.

It is important to know that there are fixed amounts per day and person for the correct use of these two facilities that we all must respect. In addition, large appliances, pruning remains and debris are deposited only in the Ecopark.
