The PSOE begins a series of meetings with clubs and sports associations visiting the facilities of Real Murcia (23/07/2019)

The socialist spokesman and councilor in charge of the sports area meet with Chema Almela, president of Real Murcia, to start making an x-ray of the sports state of the municipality.

"In addition to the meetings, we will visit all the sports facilities of the municipality to check their status and conditions, and ensure users equal conditions and opportunities in the center and districts," Enrique Lorca.

From the Socialist Municipal Group we will hold a series of meetings with the clubs and sports associations of the municipality of Murcia.

To begin this contact, the socialist spokesman José Antonio Serrano and the socialist councilor in charge of the sports area, Enrique Lorca, have had a meeting with Chema Almela, president of Real Murcia.

The objective of this first meeting has been to know first hand the current situation of the emblematic club of our city, the first team and its lower categories.

Several topics have been addressed during the visit.

One of them has been the union of Real Murcia and Murcia Females.

Chema Almela confirmed that the women's team, that this campaign will return to compete in the Second Division, has reached an agreement with the grana club to join its structure.

The spokesman and mayor socialists have offered the club their support to support this union, "we understand that this will mean a boost to women's sport, which is essential to make visible the work and achievements of women athletes, precisely because of this they will have the support of our group".

Another of the issues discussed has been that the Murcia team will play in the Second Division playing against other teams from the Murcia, Valencian and Castilian communities of La Mancha.

In addition, the club will also have a team in Preferente, another in First Autonomous and two of lower categories that will play football 8.

"For the Socialist Party, sport is a priority, so it is essential to support such an important team for our city as Real Murcia. We need a municipality involved with the sport. And we say it is important because the grana club is not only reduced the first team but also bets on the base sport with all its lower categories. Socialists understand physical activity as a right of all citizens. And so we want it, as an enriching and essential human activity in development and well-being personal, and at the same time, as a transversal instrument that favors full inclusion, effective equality and social cohesion, "explains the Socialist councilor.

In this sense, Enrique Lorca reports that the Municipal Socialist Group considers that municipal sports facilities play a basic role in order to provide citizens with full and effective access to sport.

"With this objective we are going to visit all the sports facilities of the municipality to check first-hand their status and conditions, and ensure equal conditions and opportunities between people with and without disabilities," adds Lorca.

"We know that there are many facilities that are not meeting the necessary conditions, especially in districts, to provide Murcia and Murcia with effective equality and real access to sports services. We will work so that the City Council does not abandon its commitments , take charge of the situation and solve it as soon as possible, "demands the councilor.

The socialist mayor also recalls one of the proposals of the municipal program to support sports and school progress.

"Students who stand out for their sports progression have to be supported. We propose the creation of Motivate scholarships to which € 200,000 of the municipal budget is allocated to scholarship to those students of any age who stand out for their worth and sporting success."
