The women's indoor soccer team of the University of Murcia has managed to qualify for the final of the European University Championship that is being developed at the University of Minho (Braga campus, Portugal).
These championships are organized by EUSA (European Universities Sports Association).
The final will be played tomorrow at 17.30 (16.30 in Portugal) against the winning team of the semifinal that will be played between the teams of the University of Zagreb (Croatia) and the University of Munster (Germany).

This classification represents a historic milestone for our University, until now a final in a European championship in the team competition had not been reached.
The competitive level of this team is turning out to be extraordinary and they have managed to overcome an unexpected defeat in the group stage, winning yesterday in the quarterfinals and 1-0 to the Ural Federal University (Russia) and today to the Ukrainian team, in a very physical duel where our team has taken advantage of the scoring chances, most of which are the result of pressure throughout the field that has caused several kickbacks.
At halftime the UMU won by two goals to zero, in the second part the Ukrainian team did not lower their arms at any time and in the last twelve minutes of the match was harassing our selection playing with goalkeeper-player most of them.
In that period, the UMU team managed to score the fourth goal and sent a ball to the crossbar.
The University of Murcia wants to take advantage of this historic success to encourage the entire university community to make use of the offer of activities of the Sports Activities Service, to participate in university sports competitions or to practice sport as part of a healthy life.
