The University of Murcia, through the vice-rectorship of Internationalization, attended on the 11th and 12th of April the twenty-first edition of the Annual Congress of the European Association of Universities (EUA) held at the University of the Sorbonne in Paris.

During the symposium, conferences on the promotion of innovation in European universities were presented.

In them it has been highlighted that universities have a central role in shaping the future and training the next generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers.

European universities are an integral part of local, national and international innovation ecosystems, and must work together with partners in the public and private sectors, developing solutions for society and economic challenges.

In other sessions of the congress, different universities have presented examples of their experiences of innovation in association with public and private actors through the promotion of interdisciplinary actions and the integration of students and teachers.

The role of universities in regional innovation ecosystems has also been analyzed.

The sessions of the first day ended with a round table where the universities of Aalto (Finland), Minho (Portugal) and the company APREX presented their experiences to foster new generations of innovators, facilitating a business and proactive approach to innovation among students and teachers .

During the sessions held on April 12, the universities of Cork (Ireland) and Riga (Latvia) offered different institutional approaches to improve sustainability, collaboration in interdisciplinary programs, the promotion of entrepreneurship and mechanisms for the construction of associations for the promotion of innovation.
