They have presented a motion that will be debated in the next week's plenary session in which they express the contradiction that in the district there is a Civil Guard barracks that opens two days a week - but they depend, for public security purposes, on the Carmen Police Station
The municipal groups of the Popular Party and Citizens have registered a motion that will be discussed at next week's plenary session in which they urge the Government Delegation to take the necessary steps before the Ministry of the Interior to create a Police District Police Station National in El Palmar and increase the templates of Civil Guard and National Police in the municipality of Murcia.
The distribution of powers in the State Security Forces and Bodies in the municipality means that, even when the Civil Guard has a barracks in the district, it is the National Police that holds the competences in matters of public security, which it exercises from the Police Station. of Carmen District, where the population of other localities is also served, among them, the Alberca, Santo Ángel, Algezares, Aljucer and Patiño.
In the opinion of the Popular and Citizens' groups, it is a contradiction that territorial jurisdiction corresponds to the National Police, there being some dependencies of the Civil Guard, which on the other hand only serves citizens two days a week.
The motion of both formations collects the evidence that 'both by criteria of population, social configuration and criminal index, it is necessary to create a District Commissariat with headquarters in the district of El Palmar and undertake a redistribution of the territorial competence of the Current District Commissariats in Murcia.
On the other hand, the initiative proposed by Popular Party and Citizens qualifies as' absolutely necessary 'the increase of the staff of the State Security Forces and Corps in Murcia,' ma'xime when in recent months there have been waves of robberies that cause the logical concern to the neighbors of these districts'.
