The general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara, visited San Juan de Murcia School today to review the improvements that have been developed.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports this year allocates 5 million euros to the Air Conditioning Plan, and in the next two years (2019 and 2020) provides that the investment amounts to 6 million euros each year.
In total, the Autonomous Community will invest 18.5 million euros, including the million and a half allocated to energy audits, in the period 2018-2020 to regulate the temperatures in those colleges and institutes where necessary.
Among the most recent actions that have been carried out are the installation of 250 air conditioning units, 180 fans, 44 awnings and six pergolas in 70 centers during this summer.
In addition, the Ministry carried out the first phase of energy audits in the centers, which resulted in air conditioning activities in 48 schools.
Also, 87 actions are planned in 85 educational centers, to which the works derived from the second phase of energy audits will be incorporated.
