Cristóbal Gabarrón brings awareness to Murcia's children about Human Rights through art (18/10/2018)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, along with the councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, visited this afternoon, in the Puertas de Castilla center, the children's painting workshop that the artist Cristóbal Gabarrón has given to a group of murcianos school, to raise awareness about the defense of human rights.

Under the name of 'Human Rights in the Heart', in this workshop led by internationally renowned muleño artist, with the support of the Department of Social Rights of the City of Murcia, have involved about twenty children of Santa Maria de Gracia and San Pio X.

On Tuesday, Cristóbal Gabarrón's 'Universe of light' was installed in Brussels to commemorate the United Nations Day.

The artistic installation, which covers the main cities of the world, was inaugurated in Central Park in 2015 by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon.

After its passage through Geneva in 2016, Amsterdam in 2017, this fall arrives in Brussels and will be officially inaugurated on October 25, to commemorate the day of the United Nations and the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The selected works will be exhibited at the Reina Sofía Gallery

For Cristóbal Gabarrón, education through art is an important part of his motivation and drives new programs such as an international children's drawing contest and these children's painting workshops whose selected works will become part of the exhibition of the contest that will be held in the Reina Sofía Children's Art Gallery.
