The City Council avoids knowing the true DNA of La Paz (09/08/2018)

Before the visit this morning of the councilor Rebeca Perez to the neighborhood of La Paz to coordinate "the remodeling of low voltage to minimize the inconvenience of falling power supply", the spokesman of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, recalled that overload situations They do not originate only in technical problems but in the poverty that is installed in the families of the neighborhood, which is the cause of most of the detectable links in all the neighborhood's buildings.

"Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez should not ignore the poverty that has been established in the neighborhood for many years, while the City Council avoids naming and describing that poverty, 1 the situation can only get worse." The social emergency situation does not appear, unfortunately, in the analysis, in the diagnosis or in the actions contemplated in the accelerated process called DNA, which does not enter into the realities of families and is limited to small works in the urban planning of the neighborhood ".

In addition, Tornel will request the Councilor for Social Rights, Concepción Ruiz, the status of application of Decree 897/2017, of October 6, which includes protection measures for consumers of electricity, including the social bonus.

"It is urgent that the different administrations commit themselves to guarantee the safety of the families of La Paz, given that the overload in the electrical network of the buildings constitutes a potential danger for their physical integrity." It is regrettable that the president of the Municipal Board This, Rafael Gómez, has not taken advantage of the visit of the councilor to explain the reality of things and the true origin of these situations, instead of responding to the City Council quickly and superficially to try to ignore the causes.

Tornel recalled that the municipal plenary of July unanimously approved the motion of Cambiemos Murcia urging the Ministry of Infrastructure Development to take over the maintenance of the homes of La Paz still owned, the majority affected by this and other types of problems.

"There was already a fire recently due to overload, it's a matter of time to avoid causing a misfortune or letting it happen again ... Poverty is the real DNA of La Paz," according to Tornel.
